(I had to record in bordered but in fullscreen there is the same issue). That's pretty much the absolute most annoying time to crash so obviously, that's when it happens. Unfortunately there is a difference between a Derelict Freighter as a random space encounter and a Derelict Freighter you find with a Emergency Broadcast Receiver. The random encounter version doesn't have any interior, so you can't land on it, but there are often 1-2 cargo pods you can destroy for some resources.
